70 kilometres off the coast of Nicaragua is a very unique Island. This special place has pristine blue waters, towering palm trees, clean sandy beaches, a vibrant community and a killer yoga scene.
Little Corn Island has been our head quarters for a few months now and we are loving it. For an Island that is only 2.9 square kilometres small it has a beautiful yoga community with some incredible classes to keep any yogi content and bendy while holidaying in paradise. Here are my top picks for your time on this tropical Isla.
In the heart of town, opposite the Beach Bar is a soul-powered, fiercely funky yoga studio where you will find not only the tourist yogis but the longtime local yogis as well. Funk Yoga has daily classes at 9am and 4pm rain, hail or shine. The space is brand new and has an edgy urban feel with an open plan layout.
The studio lives up to it’s name by playing funky beats and soulful music during class, this space is also completely kitted out with blocks, straps, blankets and mats. Beautiful Jacq is the co-owner and main teacher at Funk, her classes are nurturing yet challenging and utterly heart-felt. When the wind is low and the sun is out Jacq also runs SUP yoga classes out on the clear-blue water (an absolute MUST on the Island). Kelly is the other teacher at Funk, try and catch one of her yummy afternoon restorative classes where you can unwind and relax after a long day of swimming, scuba diving or exploring. Funk Yoga & SUP also offer incredible massages, I was lucky enough to receive a rub down from the highly qualified Sarah, my time with her was absolute bliss. Jacq is a yogi through and through, she hold community yoga for the local children and raises money for a vet clinic on the Island to help care for our furry friends. If you pass through paradise be sure to stop by at Funk and move to the groove.

During my time on the Island I had the absolute pleasure of teaching daily yoga at this super popular hotel that was voted one of the top 10 places to stay in Nicaragua! At the highest point of the Island, surrounded by lushest greenery, proudly sits the Lighthouse. With a breezy, open wooden deck that overlooks the ocean this is certainly the most picturesque place to practice during your stay. They generally have yoga every morning at 7:15am and it’s only $5 per class! This yoga program certainly caters to the backpackers on the Island that are looking for a cheaper way to exercise and zen out. The hotel is owned by 2 french twins who built the bar, restaurant and cabanas with their own hands, as soon as you step foot onto their property you can feel the love that went into creating this little slice of paradise.
Be sure to check out the Karma Shack as well, unfortunately I never made it to one of the classes but I heard amazing things and Leontien is a lovely lady.
I hope these places give you the yoga fix you need while holidaying in PARADISE.
Love to all,
